Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the 2023–24 season.

In July 2021, the 23-year-old Jadon Sancho transferred from German team Dortmund to Old Trafford in a deal for £73 million.

After falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, he hasn’t played for United since August 26. Since September, he has been practicing apart from the first team.

Sancho was seen as a transformational addition who could make the Red Devils legitimate Premier League championship challengers

And a force to be reckoned with in Europe once again. United spent years pursuing Sancho while he was tearing it up in the Bundesliga.

Instead, Sancho and Erik ten Hag had a falling out, with the player eventually sidelining the manager and United,

Witnessing one of the biggest performance dips in recent memory while leaving one of their highest-paid players to practice alone.

The loan contract contains no option to buy.

“When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’,” Sancho said.

“I know the club inside and out; I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge.

“I can’t wait to see my team-mates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals, and help qualify for the Champions League.”

Sancho’s awful time at United is a tragic story of chance lost and ability squandered. And everyone looks awful when they leave.
