WAEC RELEASE PROVISIONAL RESULTS FOR 2021 WASSCE CANDIDATES

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), has release the 2021 provisional results of West African Senior School Examination (WASSCE).
The provisional results indicate, as shown in the breakdown below, there were improvement in the performances of candidates at grade A1 to C6 in integrated Science and social studies in 2021 as against 2020.
On the other hand, English language and mathematics (core) recorded a decline in performance of candidates at grade A1 and C6 in 2021 as compared to 2020.
CANCELLED RESULTS
A total number of 1339 Subject Results and 174 Entire Results have been cancelled for various Examination malpractices such as bringing foreign material including bring mobile phones in to the examination hall, tearing off parts of question papers and collusion. This follows the approval of the 31st meeting of the Ghana Examination Committee held in October 2021.
The Entire Results of 3,667 candidates have been withheld pending conclusion of investigation into various cases of examination malpractices detected during and after the conduct of the examination.
The scriptS of candidates from 194 schools in certain subject have also been withheld and are being scrutinized.
The withheld results of candidates may be cancelled or released based on the outcome of the investigation.
CONCLUSION
The Council wishes to express it’s sincerest gratitude to all stakeholders especially the Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service, the Security Agencies and Examiners, for their support and co- operation during the conduct of the examination and release of results.
