MANCHESTER UNITED GAME AGAINST BRENTFORD CALLED OFF DUE TO COVID-19

The Premier league match between Manchester United and Brentford on Tuesday postponed after guests record Covid-19 cases.

The Manchester United club shut down first-team operations at their training complex in Carrington on Monday. This was due to the club recording a number of positive Covid-19 cases among players and staff following the Premier League match against Norwich on Saturday. The fixture at Brentford will be rescheduled at the appropriate time.

The request was made by Manchester United to the Premier League to postpone the fixture after being forced to close first-team operations at their Carrington training complex on Monday afternoon.

The club said they had taken a lateral flow test on Sunday, a day after beating Norwich at the Carrow road following the cases the club recorded.

On Monday, after undertaking the PCR test, they gave out a confirmed results of those who tested positive among the players and the staff, and those who had the virus are currently under isolation.

A statement from Manchester United on the nights of Monday interpreted, “Given cancellation of training and disruption to the squad, and with the help of players and staff the priority, the club requested the match to be rearranged”.

“The Premier League board took the decision to postpone based on guidance from medical advisors”.

“Manchester United regrets the inconvenience caused to Brentford FC and to the fans of both clubs by Covid-19
