Prempeh College Wins 2021 National Science & Maths Quiz

Prempeh College bring their championship tally to five, after been crowned champions of the 2021 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) .

As anticipated, Prempeh College won with 53 points, as against 49 points by the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon (PRESEC) who came second.

And 30 points for Keta Senior High and Technical School ( KETASCO), who also finished third.

This was the first time KETASCO entered the final stage of the competition. KETASCO earned GH¢3,000 as prize money from Absa Bank as bronze winners.

Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) Legon, have tried their possible best and was very close to the winners, with just 4 points separated them and the winners Prempeh College. But it was not their year, said Dr. Elsie Kaufmann, the Quiz Mistress when she announced the final result.

The Quiz Mistress congratulated PRESEC, who were willing to win the trophy for the seventh time in line with their slogan, ” We are Seven a living God”. PRESEC received a prize money of GH¢4,900 from the Absa Bank as silver medalists. Yet, PRESEC remains in the lead with Six wins in total.

Currently, Prempeh college occupies the second place on the table of schools with Five wins, against the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School Legon PRESSEC’s Six.

Prempeh College, the winners of this year contest walk away with a prize money of GH¢5,300 from Absa Bank, and an additional GH¢10,000 from Prudential Bank, and the NSMQ STAR with the highest scorer from Airtel Tigo Ghana.

There are special awards and other prize monies for the contestants.

Prempeh College also won the ‘Jama’ prize in addition to the top prize money as the best school in the ‘Jama’ competition.

As at the beginning of the competition, Prempeh said they were going to paint the City of KUMASI green by winning the trophy and presenting it to The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll. A promised they kept by winning the trophy.

Doing so keep the trophy in Ashanti Region, as the City of Kumasi was the host city of the 2021 National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

Congratulation to the God of “1onders” , from the Oti and Volta zone Champions,They made history as the first time of being in the finals, but couldn’t keep up with the pace of the two dominants Prempeh college and Presbyterian Boys Senior High School Legon.
