Former Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Muntari could end up joining Accra Hearts of Oak’s bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko on a free transfer this summer according to multiple reports.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan player joined the Accra-based club mid-way during the last season and signed a 6-months contract with the Phobians.

The 2010 Champions League winner has rejected a new contract extension from Hearts as they prepare to represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.

According to several media reports, Asante Kotoko is in talks with Sulley Muntari as they try to lure him away from their rival Hearts of Oak after he turned in a new contract offer.

The current league champions are warming themselves up in Accra as they prepare to fly to Turkey for pre-season to continue their preparation for to new coming season.

The Reds have already signed expatriate players to strengthen their side ahead of the new football season.

Asante Kotoko will open their 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season with a home game against Nsoatraman FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

In the preliminary round of the Champions League, Kotoko has been paired with the Burkinabe side, RC Kadiogo.

Sulley Muntari played in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cup in Germany, South Africa, and Brazil on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has formally tendered his resignation letter to Asante Kotoko and is no longer the head coach of the club.

In addition to the salary arrears, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will be paid a huge bonus for helping the club emerge as champions of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
