M N RidwanAs the Easter season draws near, the Ghana Police Service has unveiled special security arrangements to ensure the safety of all Ghanaians during the festive period.
In a statement released earlier today, the police announced that they have rolled out enhanced measures, especially in Kwahu — the vibrant heart of Ghana’s Easter festivities.
Kwahu is expected to welcome thousands of visitors for its iconic paragliding festival and other cultural and entertainment events.
“We’re fully prepared to provide maximum security, particularly in Kwahu, where large crowds are anticipated,” said Mr. Christian Yohonu, a police spokesperson. “Special units have been deployed to manage both crowd control and emergency situations.”
But Kwahu isn’t the only area getting attention. Police officers have been strategically dispatched across the country, including major cities and rural communities, to maintain peace and order.
The police are encouraging everyone to be mindful of their surroundings and take personal safety seriously during the celebrations. “
We are doing our part, but safety is a shared responsibility,” the statement emphasized. “We urge the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activity.”
Easter in Ghana is not just a religious celebration; it’s a major cultural event. From family reunions and church services to street carnivals and road trips, the energy across the country is electric.
With increased movement of people and vehicles, the police are also advising the public to drive responsibly and avoid reckless behavior.
As excitement builds up, the Ghana Police are assuring citizens that everything possible is being done to guarantee a safe and peaceful Easter.
So whether you’re heading to the hills of Kwahu, attending a church retreat, or simply enjoying the holidays at home, one message stands out: Stay safe and enjoy the celebration responsibly.
