You Must Convert To Islam Before You Can Marry Me – Akuapem Poloo

Ghanaian actress and socialite, Rosemond Alade Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo sent netizens into frenzy when she announced a switch of religious faith.

The brand influencer few days ago ditched her Christian faith and converted into Islam which became a surprise to her fans and followers after photos and videos went viral.

In the photos which were shared on her Instagram page, Akuapem Poloo was seen clad in full Muslim regalia while holding an ablution can and a prayer mat.

The caption she attached to the photos read: “Alhamdulillah full Muslim now, thanks to the Deputy National Chief Imam’s Quran Reciter and his board for assisting in this”.

News of Poloo’s conversion was welcomed with some level of doubt with some netizens suggesting she’s just messing with her fans to generate attention as she has always been known for.

In a recent interview, Akuapem Poloo has cautioned all men who are interested in marrying are not Muslims to do one thing that would make her accept their proposal.

According to her, if any Christian man wants to marry her must first convert into Islam because she doesn’t want any religious confusion.

She insisted that she’s no longer going back into Christianity again because she has tested Christianity before but finally chose Islam because she always dreamt of being a Muslim one day.

“If you want to marry me then you have to convert into Islam. I don’t want anyone to tell me to stop being a Muslim because when I was a Christian no Muslim told me to stop being a Christian.”

She added although Christians have supported her massively but she chose to be a Muslim. She also said she didn’t join Islam because of a man just as many critics have assumed following her conversion.

Meanwhile, just two days ago Akuapem Poloo unveiled a new name in addition to her official identity to prove naysayers wrong.

Poloo was spotted a video shared to Instagram wearing a white hijab and indicated that her new name is Haniya, which means “happiness, joy and laughter” in Islam.

She captioned the post: “The name is HANIYA ROSEMOND ALADE BROWN(aka AKUAPEM POLOO) STILL @iamcardib SPIRIT TWINNY”
