Akuapem Poloo Is Set To Pay Fine To Avoid The Jail Term

On Wednesday, 15th of December, the Court Of Appeal has set aside the prison sentence handed to actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, also known popularly in the society as Akuapem Poloo.

She has been fined a total sum of GH¢2000, as follow GH¢1000, GH¢500 and GH¢500 penalty on the three counts.

These fine are expected to be paid at the same time according to the appeal Judge.

Her Lawyer made an appeal, but was rejected by the Appeal Court.

On June, 2020, she was handed a 90-day jail term by an Accra Circuit Court. for publishing of obscene material and violating the dignity of her seven-year old son in a naked photo she shared on her social media page

However, she had served some period into her term, her lawyers appealed the sentences as the considering it to be too harsh.

She was later granted a bail of GH¢80,000, awaiting the resolution of the appeal.

On Wednesday, 1st December 2021. The court found her appeal without justification and she was later ordered to go and continue her 90-day custody.

But now it look set for Akuapem Poloo to enjoy her freedom once again.
