Yaw Annor Breaks Ishmael Addo’s 21-year-Old Record

The 24-year-old striker who recently got a call-up to the Black Stars team scored twice as AshantiGold drew 2-2 with Bibiani Gold Stars in their final game of the season at DUN’s Park on Sunday.
The retired footballer scored 22 Ghana Premier League goals during the 2001 season.
Annor’s first-half brace against Bibiani Gold Stars has thrown the record out the window, bringing his season total to 22 goals.
Cameroonian forward, Franck Mbella Etouga who plays for 2021/22 season Ghana Premier League season Champions, Asante Kotoko was poised to equal or break the record and go ahead and win the top scorer, however, he failed to add to his 21 goals tally when his side drew 1-1 with Accra Lions.
Yaw Annor did not only equal Ishmael Addo’s record but also peeped Mbella to win the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League top scorer with 22 goals. Prior to the game, Annor had scored 20 goals.
Meanwhile, AshantiGold ends the season in 7th with 47 points, 20 points behind champions Asante Kotoko.
