In a tweet which has gone viral on all social media platforms especially Twitter, Elon Musk tweeted that he wishes to buy Manchester United.

Musk on Tuesday said the Red Devils has always been his favourite club since he was a kid and if there was a chance of buying a sports team it would be the famous football club who began their 2022/2023 Premier League season in turmoil.

Musk made the remark in a series of tweets in which he joked about who he supported politically. Then, came the tweet about the Red Devils.

Elon Musk’s tweet has erupted a mixed reactions on Twitter as Manchester United fans who are yearning for a new owner welcomed the news with great joy and excitement.

Manchester United fans have protested in recent years against the American Glazer family, who bought the club in 2005, due to the team’s struggles on the pitch.

30-years ago, Michael Knighton famously came close to buying Manchester United but lost to the Glazer family.

The American owners are under pressure to sell the club following a disappointing in the recent transfer market and less progress in the club for the past 10years.

Thousands of Man United fans staged a protest prior for the club’s first Premier League game opener against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
