Certain conditions did not favour Messi’s situation despite the club’s financial constraints when he wanted to re-sign Lionel Messi

After two seasons with PSG, the adventure between Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-German came to an end.

He left PSG to join Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS), where he has already scored three goals in two games.

Prior to his departure, Messi apparently wanted to return to his club Barcelona, where he has spent most of his career and won multiple awards.

“I had offers from another European team, but I didn’t even consider it because my idea in Europe was only to return to Barcelona”.

Messi said in an interview with Sport and Mundo Deportivo.

“After winning the world cup and not being able to join Barcelona, it was time to go to MLS and live football from another perspective,

Enjoying more my daily life. Obviously, I’ll have the same responsibility on my job and desire to win everything and doing things right. But being more calm”.

Further reports suggested that, the club had no money to get Messi in the Catalan club,

Laporta says the case was different as they had sorted out Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues with authorities.

Messi said he was told the club would have either sell other players or lower salaries which he didn’t want that to happen and failed to re-join the club.

Lionel Messi has won the most Ballons d’Or in history, with seven. He is also the record holder for most consecutive wins with four in a row (2009-2012).

“It was very close”, Joan Laporta told ESPN.

“We had to manage our FFP situation so we needed time. At the end, we reached an agreement with LaLiga that authorised us to add him to the squad.

But Lionel Messi was coming from a situation in Paris where he was under a lot of pressure.

His father told me that he needed a place where he won’t be under pressure and at

Barca that would not be the case because of the meaning of the return of our hero”, Laporta explained.

Messi won 35 trophies including 10 La Liga titles and 4 UCL trophies for the club.
