M N RidwanThe Office of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has strongly denied claims circulating on social media regarding a purported list of appointments, calling it “false” and “unauthorized.”
In a statement issued on December 16, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a special aide to Mahama, urged the public to disregard the list and avoid spreading unverified information.
The list, which claimed to detail new appointments and nominations under Mahama’s incoming administration, had been circulating on various social media platforms, sparking confusion among the public.
Mahama’s office has emphasized that the document was not issued by them and has no legitimacy.
“The Office of the President-Elect wishes to categorically state that lists circulating on social media purported to be appointments and nominations made by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama are false and unauthorized,” the statement read.
The office further urged the public to only rely on official communications directly from Mahama’s team for any details regarding his appointments or future plans.
This reminder comes after Mahama’s victory in the December 7 general elections, which positioned him to assume office as President once again.
This clarification is crucial as Ghanaian citizens and political observers await updates on Mahama’s administration, especially following the overwhelming anticipation surrounding the formation of his cabinet.
In her statement, Joyce Bawah Mogtari reaffirmed that no appointments have been made at this stage and that any such announcements will come through official channels.
The office’s clarification aims to quell the growing speculation and ensure that the public receives accurate information as the transition period progresses.
