GHANA x ITALY

Ghana and Italy recently promised to be great friends and help each other to become better nations. They talked about this during their meetings in Rome, Italy. The meetings were part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s official visit to Italy, which lasted four days.

President Akufo-Addo said that Ghana and Italy have been good friends for many years. He mentioned how some Italian companies have come to Ghana, like the one that built the Akosombo Dam.

He thanked President Mattarella for helping Ghana get a big loan of $3 billion from the IMF, which will help the country grow.

The two countries plan to work together in important areas like medicine and farming. President Akufo-Addo will talk more about these topics with the Italian Prime Minister on July 24, 2023.

President Akufo-Addo also talked about making things fairer in the world, especially when it comes to money and how the world works. He said that the United Nations Security Council needs to change so that African nations are treated more fairly. He’s happy that some important leaders from other countries have already agreed to this.

President Akufo-Addo will also be part of a special meeting about food and health in Rome. They will talk about how to make things better for people in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

President Mattarella praised Ghana for being a good example of democracy and how they manage their country. He said that Ghana is like a shining light for all of Africa, not just West Africa. He also appreciated Ghana’s efforts to fight against bad people who want to cause trouble in the Sahel.

President Mattarella supports the Accra Initiative and promises to help Ghana keep the Sahel region stable. He also wants to help Ghana stop pirates in the Gulf of Guinea.

Both Presidents agreed that the world needs to change how money and important decisions are made so that everyone can have a chance to succeed.

As Ghana and Italy work together and become closer friends, they show the world how two countries can help each other and make life better for their people.
