ASTON VILLA APPOINTS STEVEN GERRARD AS HEAD COACH

Steven Gerrard new Aston Villa Manager

Steven Gerrard appointed as the new Head Coach for Aston Villa in a three and half year deal. The former Liverpool midfielder and Rangers Head Coach, Steven Gerrard replaced Dean Smith after he was sacked last week after a run of five successive defeats.

Rangers FC agreed on a compensation of £3.25 to £4 millions on Steven Gerrard and his assistant Gary McAllister.

Steven Gerrard said, ” Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and tradition in English football and am immensely proud to be its new head coach”.

” In my conversation with Nassef, Wes and the rest of the Board, it was apparent how ambitious how their plans are for the club and I am looking forward to helping them achieve their aims”.

” I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everybody associated with Glasgow Rangers for giving me the opportunity to manage such an ionic football club”.

” Helping them secure a record-breaking 55th league title will always hold a special place in my heart. I would like to wish the players, staff and supporters the very best for the future”.

Gerrard had been able to take the Rangers Club through since 2018 and led the club taking the title for the  Scottish Premiership last season.

As at now Aston Villa sits 16th in the Premier League table, for which they are two points above the relegation region  after 11 games of their campaign.

On the 20th of November, the premier league match of Aston Villa  against Brighton, marks Gerrard’s first match as a new head coach of the club, Aston Villa.

The Chief executive of Aston Villa, Christian Purslow said when he was having a dinner with Gerrard on Wednesday night in London,  ” Since moving into coaching after his illustrious playing career, Steven began by managing and developing top young players in the Liverpool FC academy which is experience we value highly at Aston Villa”.

” It has been very clear in our discussions with him that Steven’s coaching ambitions, philosophy and values entirely match those of Aston Villa”.

” We are excited he has agreed to lead us in the next phase of our ambitious plans as we look to build on the progress made since Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens took over the club since 2018“.
