Znewsgh.com earlier on reported that Benjamin Azamati booked his place in the semi-finals of the Men’s 100m race at the ongoing Commonwealth Games after coming first in heat 7.
He finished first in the heats with a time of 10.19 sub-seconds to qualify for the semis in the Men’s 100m dash.
Azamati overcomed a tough competition from Welsh athlete Jeremiah Azu and Bangladesh runner I. Rahman who finished second and third respectively.
Azamati’s time of 10.19 sub-seconds was below what he did at the 2022 World Athletics Championships where he finished the heats at a time of 10.189 sub-seconds and still failed to progress to the next round.
Ghanaians have taken to social media to praise Azamati for qualifying to the final of the Men’s 100m in the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth games.
