Asanteman Shuts Down Oyerepa FM Over Odike's Comments

Oyerepa FM/TV had been in the news for some days now following its closure by Manhyia over comments they considered derogatory made against them by Akwasi Addai Odike a politician on their network.

Though the media house rendered an apology to Manhyia and even went to apologize in person following their closure, their apologies were rejected and they were told to go and prepare very well before coming back.

On their second visit, the media house leaders went together with some high-profile people to Manhyia to offer their apologies again including Prof. Emmanuel Asante.

After the successful meeting, the man of God disclosed that Manhyia has finally accepted the apologies and had asked that the station resumes its operations again.

According to him, Manhyia warned that media houses should be careful with the people they bring to their stations to share their views on matters.

The former presiding Bishop for the Methodist Church Ghana Rev Prof. Emmanuel Asante advised media practitioners to be circumspect in their reportage on national matters.

The preacher made this comment while speaking to press men at the Manhyia Palace after he and other people went to the palace to beg on behalf of Kumasi-based media house Oyerapa FM/TV.

Meanwhile, John Dramani Mahama continues to pile pressure and criticize NPP led government under President Nana Akudo-Addo.

The former President says the last couple of years under Akufo-Addo has seen unprecedented hardship for the Ghanaian people.

According to Mahama, Akufo-Addo regime as ‘the greatest political scam in the 4th Republic’.

Mr Mahama was speaking at the Lawyers’ Conference of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday, August 28, when he said the current economic hardship in the country must be placed at the doorstep of President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr Mahamadu Mahamadu.

But, he said the NDC party will turn the fortunes around if they win power in 2024.

Ghanaians are looking up to the NDC to restore hope and turn the fortunes of our motherland around from the pitiable state in which we currently find ourselves. At this time, Ghana our motherland is in deep crisis. Our economy is in a dire situation,” he said.
