New Feature: Twitter Search Results Now Displays Stock & Crypto Prices

Published

on

In the midst of all the current confusion, Twitter has unveiled a helpful feature that enables you to look up listed company stocks as well as cryptocurrency prices.

Users can accomplish this by entering the dollar sign ($) followed by the appropriate ticker symbol, such as “$GOOG” or “$ETH,” in the search bar without the quotation marks, and Twitter will show the current price.

This also functions without the $ symbol in some cases, although it is less reliable and doesn’t always provide the requested stock or cryptocurrency prices.

In light of this, users will see a static graph showing the current stock price and a chart without any X or Y axis information when it functions.

It’s not entirely obvious, but it’s probably a price chart for the stock’s most recent closing price.

But a person can click “View on Robinhood” if they want more information about a stock or coin.

As a matter of fact, the logo on the screenshot suggests that Twitter is sourcing the data from the TradingView website, as app researcher Jane Manchun Wong pointed out.

Meanwwhile, the social media company has not specified whether it is collaborating in any way on a business level with TradingView or Robinhood.

Twitter’s Claims

Moreover, the company claimed that it will improve symbol compatibility and polish the user experience in the upcoming weeks.

For instance, at the time of writing, the Twitter search didn’t provide the stock values of firms like Airbnb ($ABNB) and Zoom ($ZM).
