The management of Huawei Ghana has given the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Accra two sets of cutting-edge intelligent video conferencing equipment.

The presentation was held at the Ministry as part of initiatives to increase the ICT capabilities of the Ministry and aid in efficient remote communication between the Ministry, its stakeholders, and foreign organizations.

During the brief event, Mrs. Jenny Zhou, Director of Government and Public Affairs of Huawei Ghana thanked the Minister for continuing to support Huawei’s operations in Ghana.

She claimed that the two Huawei Idea Hubs, which are advanced video conferencing systems, were donated so that the Ministry and its partners may effectively carry out their tasks around the world in both regular and emergency circumstances.

Moreover, the Minister was thanked for her warm welcome by Mrs. Zhou, who expressed gratitude on behalf of Huawei for its commitment to working closely with the government to advance the growth of its ICT infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its people.

Furthermore, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mrs. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, praised Huawei for their assistance and generosity and said that the equipment, which had arrived swiftly, will be put to good use in order to facilitate virtual meetings and improve communication.

She also complimented Huawei for helping the Ghanaian government’s objective for digital transformation ever since the company first arrived in the nation.

“Huawei is very entrenched in Ghana, and we are happy you are here. Following Covid-19, it has now become the norm for many meetings to be held virtually,” she iterated.

In light of this, the Minister claimed that the cutting-edge technology, which had been provided, would be of considerable assistance to the Ministry, particularly for its virtual meetings and for efficient communication with its missions abroad.

“The equipment will be put to good use and handled well as this will take us a long way in ensuring that we represent Ghana and the Ministry well,” she added.
