EOCO GIVEN PERMISSION TO AUCTION-OFF- NAM 1 PROPERTIES

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has been granted the permission to   mart and sell properties belonging to the Chief Executive Officer of inoperative gold dealership, MenzGold, Nana Appiah Mensah also known as NAM 1.

The order was given at the Financial and Economic Crimes Division of Accra High Court, chaired by Justice Afia Serwaa Botwe.

Properties belonging to Nana Appiah Mensah will be auctioned and sold along with benefits, as part of the exercise.

Conforming to the portals, the properties included Zylofon Art Complex, G-Tech Automobile, Brew Energy, Brew Marketing Consult, Star, Zylofon Music and Media Company Limited, Star Madrid Football Club.

Besides, the court has frozen his two other properties, including an uncompleted residential property at the Trassaco Valley and also another 510 acres of land which is said to belong to NAM 1.

Yet, the move comes after the EOCO ordered a proposal praying the Accra High Court to authorize it to auction and sell the properties belonging to the fortified gold dealership firm.

Abu Issah, Director of Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has also revealed that the CEO of the inoperative MenzGold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM 1 was involved in money laundering.

He made this well known at the time that he appeared before the Financial and Economic division of the High Court on Tuesday, 18th January, 2022.

The application for the auctioning of some properties of NAM 1 and MenzGold limited was then moved by Lawyer Abu Issah.

In court, Lawyer Abu Issah said, “We have a motion on notice for the discharge of confirmation and further pray of official auction for the properties of respondents (MenzGold) and NAM 1”.
