Arsenal's Kai Havertz Could Miss Rest of the Season with Hamstring Injury

Arsenal are facing a serious blow to their attack as striker Kai Havertz is feared to have suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.

The German international picked up the injury during a training camp in Dubai, and the club now finds itself without a fully fit, recognized striker as they look to close the gap to Premier League leaders, Liverpool.

Havertz, who had been expected to play a key role in the second half of the season, returned to London with the rest of the squad on Tuesday night.

The club has since initiated medical assessments, which will continue through Wednesday and Thursday to determine the full extent of the injury.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to provide an official update on the striker’s condition during his news conference on Friday.

The injury comes at a time when Arsenal is already dealing with significant personnel issues in attack.

Gabriel Jesus is ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.

Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli is sidelined for the next month due to a hamstring injury sustained in the Carabao Cup semi-final loss to Newcastle United.

The situation is further compounded by the absence of Bukayo Saka, who has been out since December 21 due to his own hamstring problem.

However, Saka was part of the Gunners’ training squad in Dubai and could make his return to action in March, offering some hope to Arteta’s squad.

With Havertz now potentially joining the injury list, Arsenal finds itself in a precarious position.

The Gunners had opted not to sign a new striker during the January transfer window, leaving the team without a recognized centre-forward option for the time being.

This decision now seems risky as they attempt to keep pace with Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

Arsenal’s injury crisis will certainly test their depth and resolve as they aim to maintain their momentum for the remainder of the season.
