Buses carrying 202 foreigners were obstructed by the Ghana Immigration services in Aflao on Saturday, 27th of November.

The foreigners were held at the Aflao main border after officers were notified of their movements to different parts of the country and also within these foreigners, they were mostly citizens of Niger.

According to Assistant Commissioner Fredrick Baah Duodu, who was in charge as the sector commander, said 92 of the foreigners were arrested by the Defence Intelligence by the Ghana Armed forces, and 110 of the foreigners were also arrested by the Ghana Immigration service.

As the officers investigated, it was let out that majority of the foreigners were not having valid travelling documents.

Maxwell Lugudor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South, who was at the spot, complimented the officials for rapidly responding and carrying out their task with rigour.

The MCE said, ” I am happy the officials intercepted these people, despite the challenges faced with their jobs especially those in the hinterlands. Who have to reach difficult areas, but I urge them to continue with the good work and help protect the borders”.
