Nigeria Actor and Filmmaker James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly Known in the Showbiz as Jim Iyke, one of the most successful and well recognised when it comes to African movie or Nollywood. Iyke Has now come out to clear the air on why he doesn’t follow anyone on Instagram.
Jim Iyke who have more than 2.4 million followers on Instagram, has yet to follow a single person on his Instagram account, as a screenshot of his Instagram account has revealed.
According to the actor, in recent interview he sees social media as “pseudo” reality and people should treat it as such, people take it as their everyday life. He said from day one he got on social media he didn’t wanted to follow anyone, he sees it as marketplace, pseudo reality there, it’s not where people want to take as their everyday life.
All his posts is tailored as he doesn’t post about his private life or family issues, he believe certain things should be left for one to experience alone.

“From day one I got on social media, I didn’t want to follow anybody. I wanted to establish the fact that this is a market place. It’s a pseudo reality there. It’s not what people want to take as their everyday life.”
“If you see any of my posts, it’s tailored. I don’t post about my family. I don’t post my pleasures.There are certain things I think should be left for one to experience alone.There are three tiers of life that I live. I live the private life, the public life, and the secret life.”

“Social media is public life. If I want to make a statement in style, if I want to make a statement on my ideology and principles, if I want to market something, or if I want to set a new understanding on my opinion of something, that is where I should be. If I’m having a good time with people that don’t mind being on that platform, I go there.”
He also said that, He had been protecting His children from social media, as he doesn’t want his children to be judge by their actions on social media or easily recognise on the street.
“I have kid that run the mall at every part of the world and know one will say, I know that face.” He added.
