Mother Jailed For Causing The Death Of Her 11 Months Baby

Fartun Jamal 25, a mother of 11 months old baby, has been found guilty for child neglect and causing the death of her baby girl. She kept her baby in “squalid conditions surrounded by wall covered with human faeces.” According to police report. Baby Nafahat Jamal Diini, who lived with her mother at her flat in Brent Park, London United Kingdom. Believed to have met her untimely death just 11 months, a month short from her first birthday.

She died of chest infections after weeks of neglects and living under squalid conditions in the hand of the very person who suppose to go the extra miles just for her wellbeing, as most mother would do. But she rather met her untimely death in the hand of her mother.

According to police report, Fartun Jamal made countless web – searched including, “I can’t cope with my child anymore” and “I want to give up my child” in the early 2019, before the poor baby death.

A report presented to the Harrow Crown Court in London, Fartun has put her social life ahead of the wellness of her child, she was out partying shortly before the death of baby Nafahat. And was well aware of the poor health, very high temperature and loss of appetite, but she failed to take her to hospital.

A visit from the social welfare somewhere on the February 22, after a concern babysitter raised alarm of the manner and conditions she kept her. She was warned, and after that she cleaned the house and the condition was improved.

A second social services visit was planned without prior notice for the 13 of march, and that was the day baby Nafahat died.

When paramedics arrived at her flat, after a neighbor made a frantic 999 call. At 12:24pm the mother told them that, she had found her baby’s body, after she had a dream of her girl not breathing. The paramedics tried desperately to resuscitate her but with no avail and pronounced her dead at the mother’s flat.

She was later found guilty of four counts. One for causing the death of Nafahat through neglects, two counts of child cruelty related to the death of Nafahat and one count of child cruelty of another child.

After nearly hours of deliberation, she was given five and half prison sentence by the Harrow Crown Court in London.

A statement by DCI Madeline Ryder, a senior Met police investigation officer said, “Jamal went out partying just days before Nafahat’s death and “had clearly placed her social life above that of the basic needs of her baby.”

“This is an absolutely tragic case that resulted in the needless death of an innocent baby.”

“She died of an illness that was very treatable if Jamal had bothered to seek medical attention. What is even more harrowing is that her GP’s surgery was less than 70 metres away from where she died and could be seen from Nafahat’s bedroom window, so help was within very easy reach.”
