1200 km railway project that will connect Accra to Ouagadougou to start at the beginning of next year

The bilateral agreement between  Ghana government  and the government of Burkina Faso. Which will see a construction of 1200 km of railway line  that will connect the two capital city Accra and Ouagadougou through major cities and town on both side, is almost on it final stage of procurement that will pave way for the start of the project at the  beginning  of next year.

A bidding  event was organised at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra Ghana that was jointly organised by both government the Ghanaian expertise and their Burkinabe counterparts.

Has come to an end on Thursday 7th Oct 2021,
At the end, two Companies Messr Frontline Consortium and African Global Development  Sarl, has been shortlisted.

The two Company out of three pre-qualify bidders, met the deadline on putting up a comprehensive plans on the build, operate, and transfer arrangement of the 1200 km railway line project.

Speaking  at the event the Minister incharge of railways development Mr. John Peter Amewu noted that, the two countries have agreed to complete the preparatory face of the project by the end of this year to pave way for the physical construction to began by the first quarter of 2022.
He further assure the two bidders of fair and transparent procurement.

The Burkinabe counterparts minister also of transport Mr. Vincent Timbindi Dabligou reiterated his country commitment to ensuring the project comes to fuition to benefit both nations.
