M N RidwanThe bus, registered as GW 6231-21, was carrying approximately 53 passengers when it toppled onto its side, trapping several individuals inside.
Emergency responders, including personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the police, and ambulance teams, swiftly arrived at the scene to assist in rescuing the passengers.
According to Abdul Wasiu Hudu, the Central Regional Public Relations Officer of GNFS, the incident occurred at around 6:48 AM.
A total of 23 injured passengers were rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for immediate medical attention, while nine others received on-site treatment and were discharged.
Sadly, three passengers were confirmed dead upon their arrival at the hospital. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
The tragic accident has raised concerns about road safety, as local authorities and citizens alike await answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As investigations unfold, the community and the families of those affected are left grieving the loss of loved ones, while the injured passengers receive the medical care they need.
