American singer and songwriter, Beyonce’s ‘Already’ song featuring Shatta Wale has got certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The malisa hitmaker is making history with this accolade after becoming the first Ghanaian to receive recognition from the RIAA on a global scale.
The RIAA established the Gold and Platinum Awards Program to recognize artists and keep tabs on sound recording sales.
Moreover, it has evolved into the yardstick for success in the recorded music sector.
The Lion King Album’s song “Already” is categorized as Afrobeat music. Black is King, a 2020 motion picture, also uses the song by American singer Beyoncé, Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale, and American group Major Lazer.
The song video was shot in the Greater Accra Region and the Eastern Region.
In 2022, “Already” won the Best Collaboration of the Year honor at the 6th annual AEAUSA and the 18th Urban Music Awards. At the 2020 BreakTudo Awards, the song took home the Best Collaboration award.
