Outspoken celebrated Ghanaian journalist, Godsbrain Smart popularly known as Captain Smart has revealed three members of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral may also resign.
According to the Onua TV presenter, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, founder of Action Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, founder of United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), formerly Lighthouse Chapel International, and Rev. Eastwood Anaba, founder of the and President of Eastwood Anaba Ministries may all leave.
This comes after Pastor Dr Mensa Otabil is reported to have resign from the board of trustees over financial irregularities.
It was reported that popular televangelist failed to attend their recent meetings and all attempts by the board to convince him to stay have proved futile.
Following this, the Secretariat of the National Cathedral have removed Dr Mensa Otabil’s name from the website.
Captain Smart took to Twitter to hint that Duncan Williams, Bishop Dag and Eastwood Anaba may also tend in their resignation letter after Otabil left.
“Archbishop Duncan Williams, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, and Bishop Dag Heward-Mills would also be tendering in their resignation soon from the National Cathedral Board Of Trustees? #cathedralyaamutu.”
“Watch this space…” he added.
Ghanaians have spoken against the building of National Cathedral especially around these difficult times in the country where fuel prices keep going up, NABCO and NSS personnel have not been paid for some months.
Trainee teacher and nurses have not been posted, flood is destroying many homes in Accra leaving a lot of people almost homeless, yet gov’t have disbursed over GHC25bn for the building of the Cathedral.
