Meek Mill Did Not Record A Video Using Ghana’s Presidential Podium: Deputy Minister
American rapper Meek Mill did not use the presidential podium for his now-deleted music video that sparked uproar last Monday, according to the deputy information minister Fatimatu Abubakar.
The lectern that Meek used in his movie is actually used by visitors to address the President, according to Ms. Abubakar.
She claims there have been innumerable instances in the past where guests to the Jubilee House have taken movies in the forecourt, banquet hall, or ground floor/waiting area.
In light of this, she claimed that the manner in which Meek’s music video was put together was the reason for the variation in how people reacted to it.
Ms. Abubakar claimed that the Jubilee House protocol system and the Diaspora Directorate had both learned from the situation, but she asked Ghanaians not to minimize the skill of those employees.
In a radio interview with Asempa FM, Ms.Abubakar iterated, “First of all, that was not the President’s lectern,” instead, she said that there was an additional lectern in the Jubilee House banquet hall that guests could use to address the President.
The rapper has expressed regret for having the song video shot in Jubilee House, Ghana’s presidential residence.
With the video, the celebrity stirred up controversy by lip-syncing in the hallways and corridors of the palace.
To that effect, MPs questioned the potential security dangers while he was accused of “desecrating” Jubilee House.
