M N RidwanPresident John Dramani Mahama is set to unveil his final list of ministerial nominees on Monday, January 20, 2025, as he fulfills his pledge to complete the appointment of his cabinet within 14 days of assuming office.
This announcement will mark a significant milestone in the formation of Mahama’s administration, which he has promised to run with a lean and efficient government.
As part of his commitment to reduce the size of government, the President has set a cap of 60 ministers, a move designed to promote efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the various sectors of government.
The final batch of nominees is expected to include ministers for key portfolios, such as Defence, Interior, Environment, Health, and Labour.
In addition to these crucial appointments, three Regional Ministers will also be named, completing the final phase of the cabinet appointments necessary for the smooth operation of the government.
Meanwhile, the Communications Team at the Presidency has dismissed rumors regarding a supposed third batch of ministerial nominees.
The reports, which circulated on social media, claimed that prominent figures from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were among the alleged new appointments.
The Presidency has clarified that these claims are “false and misleading,” urging the public to disregard any unauthorized information.
The Communications Team emphasized that all official updates regarding ministerial appointments will be communicated through formal channels.
Ghanaians have been urged to rely on credible sources for accurate details about the government’s activities and to avoid spreading unverified information.
As the President prepares to make the final appointments, the nation awaits the full lineup of his cabinet and the impact these ministers will have on the country’s development.
