Sources close to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) reveal that the leadership change comes after President John Mahama nominated Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the current Majority Leader, to the position of Finance Minister.
Mahama Ayariga, a veteran legislator, is well-regarded for his deep understanding of parliamentary rules and his ability to build consensus across party lines.
