Landlord Arrested for Be@ting Tenant to De@th with Bat in Rent Dispute

A violent rent dispute in New York City has left 30-year-old Kristopher Samaroo de@d after he was allegedly be@ten with a bat by his landlord.

The incident occurred on November 30, when Samaroo and his landlord, Omar Lamoni, 43, reportedly clashed over an issue involving overdue rent payments and the apartment’s lack of hot water.

According to Samaroo’s wife, Brittney Shears, the landlord had been accepting partial rent payments despite the ongoing hot water problem.

The argument intensified when Lamoni arrived to collect rent, and the situation turned violent.

Police say that during the altercation, Lamoni attacked Samaroo with a metal bat. Samaroo later succumbed to his injuries.

Lamoni, along with 39-year-old Edwin Nina, has been arrested in connection with the assault. Lamoni faces charges of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, while

Nina is charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The two men pleaded not guilty to the charges in court.

Samaroo’s family has set up a GoFundMe campaign in his memory, describing him as an empathetic father who was deeply loved by his daughters.

“Kris had a pure heart of gold,” the fundraiser reads, highlighting his role as the family’s primary provider.

Security footage of the attack was reviewed during the suspects’ arraignment, showing the use of a bat in the fatal confrontation.

Both Lamoni and Nina were granted bail, and the case is still under investigation.

Samaroo’s de@th has left the community in shock as they remember him as a father who was tragically taken too soon.
