I strongly believe the government’s decision to go back to the IMF is because it has failed to generate enough revenue from the e-levy which took effect on May 1.

Recently, a top-ranking member of the incumbent NPP government, Gabby Otchere-Darko bemoaned that Ghanaians don’t like paying taxes.

The former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute revealed that the tax measure has only managed to deliver on 10% of the estimated revenue target.

According to him, e-levy is a good policy but Ghanaians are the main problem, hinting that Ghana may go back to IMF.
