M N RidwanMarriage counselor Charlotte Oduro has responded to the divorce petition filed by her husband, Apostle Solomon Oduro, with demands for compensation and support.
The couple, married for 16 years, is embroiled in a contentious legal battle following Apostle Oduro’s move to dissolve their marriage.
In his divorce suit, Apostle Oduro, the founder of Royal Victory Family Church, cited irreconcilable differences, claiming the marriage had become untenable.
He accused his wife of emotional neglect and failure to contribute financially, despite being financially successful herself.
He also pointed to the fact that Charlotte reportedly prepared her meals in the master bedroom, refusing to eat meals prepared by the chef in the house.
Another major point in his suit was that the couple had only engaged in intimacy 12 times over their 16-year marriage, a claim that further fueled tensions in the proceedings.
Charlotte Oduro has denied many of the allegations made by her husband.
She rejected accusations of emotional abuse and insisted that she contributed to the household significantly through her unpaid work at his church.
Although she could not confirm the exact number of times she had been intimate with him, Charlotte admitted to a seven-year period without physical relations.
She also strongly refuted the claims about her domestic behavior, including those about preparing meals in the bedroom.
In her response to the divorce petition, Charlotte Oduro acknowledged that while she never anticipated divorce, she was not opposed to her husband’s wishes.
However, she made clear her demands for compensation.
She is seeking a lump sum of GH₵1 million, GH₵10,000 monthly in upkeep for their three children, and either a division of their current eight-bedroom house or an alternative four-bedroom house.
This development in the Oduros’ legal battle has sparked widespread discussion, particularly as Charlotte Oduro has previously shared in an old video how she once provoked her husband’s calm demeanor, even locking him indoors in a bid to stir up his temper.
As the court proceedings unfold, both parties continue to seek what they believe is fair in this highly publicized divorce.
