M N RidwanThe Operation Recover All Loot team, led by North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has made significant progress in uncovering widespread state misappropriation under the previous administration.
During a press briefing in the Eastern Region, Ablakwa revealed that the team has gathered substantial evidence of the looting of state assets, which had been systematically diverted for personal gain.
Speaking with conviction, Ablakwa assured the public that the forthcoming report would detail the full extent of the misconduct, highlighting the team’s careful and thorough investigation.
“We have collected compelling evidence, and once the report is finalized, the full scale of this malfeasance will be made known to the public,” Ablakwa said.
The team, appointed by former President John Dramani Mahama, is composed of prominent figures including Nathan Kofi Boakye, legal expert Martin Kpebu, investigative journalist Raymond Archer, and former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo.
Their primary objective is to investigate, document, and present findings related to the misappropriation of state assets, with the goal of ensuring accountability and recovering looted resources.
While the details of the findings remain confidential for now, Ablakwa emphasized that the team would refrain from releasing specifics until the final report is presented directly to President Mahama.
This much-anticipated document is expected to shine a light on alleged wrongdoings during the previous administration under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
The Operation Recover All Loot initiative is part of President Mahama’s broader efforts to restore public confidence in governance by promoting transparency and accountability in state institutions.
This initiative is also expected to pave the way for legal actions aimed at ensuring that those responsible for misappropriating public funds are held accountable.
Ablakwa concluded by stating that the report would mark a significant turning point in the fight against corruption in Ghana, as the government seeks to ensure that the public’s trust is restored.
