M N RidwanSpeaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin has admitted that it is impossible to fully “reset” Ghana in just four years.
However, he emphasized the importance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its members committing to making significant strides toward improving the country during their time in office.
Speaking at the NDC Professionals Forum, Bagbin acknowledged the overwhelming support the party received from the people of Ghana, stressing that this trust has brought the party to a crucial moment of responsibility.
“The absolute majority we now possess in the next parliament reflects the confidence the Ghanaian people have in the party, and it underscores their yearning for change and progress,” Bagbin said.
“It’s now time for us to deliver on the promise of change.”
Bagbin highlighted that while the transformation of the country could not be achieved in a single term, the work towards resetting Ghana must begin with immediate action.
He called on members of the NDC, particularly those in the Professionals Forum, to remain actively involved in the incoming government’s efforts.
“We cannot reset Ghana in four years,” he admitted, “but it is imperative that we work tirelessly to set the foundation for real change.”
He added that their contributions would be critical as the country navigates challenges, including revitalizing the economy, improving governance, and reforming key institutions like the Judiciary.
Bagbin encouraged Forum members to take initiative, even if not directly invited, to influence the course of the nation’s future.
“Whether given space or not, you must go for that space and make sure your voices and ideas help breathe new life into Ghana,” he urged.
With a strong mandate, the NDC now faces the challenge of turning their promises of progress into tangible improvements for the people of Ghana.
