A 12-year-old girl has appeared in court charged with mansl@ughter following the tragic death of 80-year-old Bhim Kohli, who was allegedly kicked to death in a park just metres from his front door.
Mr. Kohli, a beloved grandfather, died in a hospital after being attacked while walking his dog in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, on the evening of September 1.
Before his death, Mr. Kohli, a retired factory owner, was well-known in his community. Neighbours described him as a caring, loving man who was deeply devoted to his family.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed daily walks with his dog, Rocky, in the park. Kohli’s family, devastated by the loss, paid tribute to him, calling him “a loving husband, dad, and grandad.”
The attack occurred amid growing concerns from locals about gangs of youths causing trouble in the area.
Kohli’s family has also raised questions about the police’s handling of prior incidents in the neighbourhood, with the force referring itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over previous contact with Mr. Kohli.
The tragic case has left the community in shock as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of a well-respected man who was taken far too soon.
