Suzzy Pinamang’s Surgery Still Pending – Updates from UK Hospital

The personal assistant to Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama, Rafik Mahama, has dismissed social media reports claiming that Suzzy Pinamang has already undergone eye surgery and started seeing again.

In a public update shared via social media on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Rafik clarified that while Suzzy is currently in the United Kingdom for medical care, her surgery has not yet taken place.

“The medical procedure towards recovery for Suzzy Pinamang has just begun in the UK. She has not yet undergone surgery,” Rafik wrote. “We remain optimistic and confident that the surgery will be successful.”

He emphasized that the public will be kept fully informed when there is a major development, especially after the surgery is completed.

Rafik used the opportunity to express deep gratitude on behalf of the family for the outpouring of prayers and support from Ghanaians across the country.

The surgery is set to take place at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, which is recognized as one of the leading eye care institutions globally.

The clarification comes in response to several misleading social media posts and videos suggesting that Suzzy had already undergone a successful operation and regained her sight.

Suzzy Pinamang became a national figure after a tragic incident at Adventist Senior High School in the Ashanti Region, where she was accidentally shot in the eye by a gun a classmate had brought to school.

The shocking incident led to public outrage and sparked widespread conversations about school safety and student discipline.

The boy involved in the incident, who was taken into police custody, has since been granted bail.

As the nation continues to hope and pray for Suzzy’s full recovery, Rafik Mahama’s update reminds the public to await verified updates and respect the family’s privacy during this critical period.
