Mahama Pledges to Restore Integrity and Tackle Corruption in New Year Message

President-elect John Mahama has committed to correcting the wrongs of the outgoing government, vowing to lead Ghana into a new era of transparency, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

In his New Year message for 2025, Mahama pledged to confront corruption head-on, reduce government waste, and restore the integrity of Ghana’s leadership.

“We will work tirelessly to correct the outgoing administration’s many wrongs, tackle corruption with dogged determination, and reduce excessive government expenditures,” Mahama stated, signaling a strong stance against the mismanagement he claims has plagued the country.

As part of his vision, Mahama outlined his plans to reset Ghana’s economy, focusing on policies that prioritize job creation and economic growth.

One of his flagship initiatives is the implementation of a 24-hour economy, designed to boost productivity and encourage innovation, particularly in sectors that can drive exports and foster entrepreneurship.

“We will create an environment that fosters entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development, ensuring that our youth can achieve their dreams right here at home,” Mahama promised, highlighting youth empowerment as a central pillar of his leadership.

The President-elect assured Ghanaians of his administration’s dedication to a lean, accountable government that listens to the aspirations of all citizens.

He called for inclusiveness and unity, emphasizing the need to focus on shared goals of prosperity and national development.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the country’s future, Mahama urged young Ghanaians to channel their energy and creativity toward national progress.

He also assured business owners and entrepreneurs of his administration’s commitment to removing barriers and simplifying processes to make doing business easier and more profitable.

In closing, Mahama called for unity and optimism as Ghana embarks on a transformative journey, expressing confidence in his ability to fulfill his campaign promises and lead the nation to a brighter, more prosperous future.
