Mahama’s visit, which is set to focus on advancing cooperation in key areas such as trade, infrastructure, and regional development, highlights the longstanding relationship between Ghana and Sierra Leone.
The bilateral talks are expected to cover topics including economic partnerships, social infrastructure development, and collaboration in regional affairs.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President Mahama, confirmed the visit via a post on social media on March 18, 2025, assuring that the discussions would address mutual areas of interest.
Ghana and Sierra Leone share a history of solidarity and support, particularly during times of crisis, and have worked closely on joint development initiatives.
The two nations have long-standing ties, marked by a commitment to mutual development and assistance.
In January 2025, Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio attended Mahama’s inauguration in Accra, further reinforcing the strong partnership between the two countries.
