Location: Cambridge, UK (option to work remotely, up to 3 days/week)

At Paxt, we represent the world’s leading DJ technology brands in Sub-Saharan Africa (predominantly Ghana, Kenya & Nigeria). We are looking for a motivated marketeer to work alongside our growing team in the UK and and local representatives in Africa, attracting and inspiring DJs and helping Paxt realise its purpose, to amplify African stories through music & sound.

Developing and sharing market expertise, the DJ Community Lead aims to amplify the stories of African DJs, working with Paxt’s DJ brands to place them on a global stage. You’ll be driving demand for DJ technology in Africa by nurturing key relations and executing effective sales & marketing initiatives in cooperation with the brands, our local resellers, and key market influencers, including DJs, media partners, schools, bloggers, vloggers and beyond.

Great at building rapport and long-term relationships, you’ll be creating and co-ordinating marketing activities, helping our local partners to drive demand and creating excitement around the brands we represent.

Key Responsibilities

Have your finger on the pulse of future DJ trends, developing a lived appreciation for the latest products, technology, and local DJ community needs.
Support the local resellers to represent Paxt DJ brands, inspiring DJs in their local territory.
Develop and drive influencer relations as part of a growing African influencer database.
Create and run full-cycle content marketing campaigns that amplify inspirational stories.
Assist the team in driving profit in this community, enabling Paxt to fulfil its purpose.
Work with the team to ensure the right quantities of the right product are in stock in the best resellers across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Success in this role depends on your ability to work effectively with others, creating desire and excitement for DJ’ing and DJ technology. We’re looking for people with:

A deep understanding and passion for the latest tech
A lived experience and connection with the African Dance Music Community
A community-oriented passion for new music and new musical experiences.
Demonstrable experience in retail, influencer, and content marketing.
A focus on objective metrics and professional experience of working autonomously.
A working knowledge of retail, both direct to customer and distribution
A structured completer / finisher with strong relational skills
