Four Men arrested for rapped and robberies

Four men arrested by The Criminal Investigation Department(CID) for allegedly robbing and rapping women at Adenta and it surroundings.

The accused are Ebenezer Amakye Adom(30), the Mastermind behind the act; Paul Nyamelor (23), a sawmill operator, Joel Alornyeku (27), a fridge repairer and Ebenezer Tawiah (29), a trader.

Daniel Tawiah who turns out to be a fifth suspect is currently on the run and been tracked by the police.

They are said to have use the Instagram account with the name “Photo Shop” to persuade women interested in advertising for the company to attend a photoshoot.

They women who showed interest were taken into a bush, where they said photoshoot was to have taken place but turned out to been raped, as these men had forced them to have sex with them.

That was not all, they were also forced to unlock their phones and also disclose their Mobile Money PINs.

The accused then transfer money from their victims Mobile Money wallets into their Mobile Money wallets.

The police said they received complaints from a number of women that they have been raped and robbed since the beginning of the year.

A number of victims are currently following the case and one of them is said to have GH¢7000 transferred from her Mobile Money wallet while others had profuse amount transferred from their Mobile Money wallets.

Ebenezer Amakye Adom was arrested on Monday, November 8th by the police based on intelligence.

It was confirmed that Ebenezer had created an Instagram account with the name “phone shop” with which he invites women to attend a photoshoot for an advertisement.

Following his arrest, the police ran a search in Ebenezer’s room and found a number of SIM cards, a desktop computer and a router which he used in his unlawful operation.

The other suspects were arrested in Kubekrom, Kpong Katamanso, in the Greater Accra for engagement in the crime.

The police warned the public to be aware of social media invitations .
Also, the public were advised to follow pages that are verified and safe.
