M N RidwanPopular Kumawood actor and skitmaker Dr Likee, real name Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, has gone viral once again—but this time, he gave his fans quite the scare.
A video circulating on social media showed Dr Likee and a colleague holding printed copies of what appeared to be his funeral posters.
At first glance, many Ghanaians believed the worst—that the beloved comic actor had passed away. But the reality was far less tragic. The posters were actually created for an upcoming movie project.
The footage, which surfaced online via TikTok and Instagram, shows Dr Likee posing with the posters in what looked like a serious mood, fueling the confusion.
It didn’t take long before social media was flooded with mixed reactions—some fans expressing relief, others calling the prank “expensive” and emotionally charged.
“Some jokes are expensive o,” one user commented. Another said, “If your heart was beating faster when you saw it, gather here.”
This is not the first time Dr Likee has stirred the public with bold antics. From dressing up in a full DIY AI robotic suit on the streets of Kumasi to posing in futuristic sci-fi gear, his comedic creativity continues to keep fans both entertained and on edge.
In 2024, he hinted at retiring from the movie scene after returning from a UK trip with his protégé, Kyekyeku.
Though he later denied any plans to quit acting, he did admit to slowing down due to frustrations with ungrateful mentees.
Despite the controversy surrounding the fake obituary stunt, Dr Likee remains one of Ghana’s most beloved and unpredictable comic figures.
With his new movie now grabbing attention even before its release, it’s clear the actor knows exactly how to keep his audience talking.
