As it stands now, the eight teams that finished third in their Champions League groups will face the eight runners-up from their Europa League groups, including Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Juventus will play Nantes, and Jose Mourinho’s Roma team will also face FC Salzburg in a thrilling match.
The first legs of the Europa fixtures will come off on the 16th of February while the second legs will be played seven days later on the 23rd of February.
Interestingly enough, in-form Arsenal qualified for the last 16 as one of the winners when they won their Europa League group.
Also related to sports, Frenkie de Jong, the Culers midfielder, who was frequently connected to Erik ten Hag’s team during the summer, seems to have decided to stay with the Spanish giants.
