Rose Rock, the Mother of American Comedian ” Chris Rock” who was slapped by Actor Will Smith after joking about his wife Jada Pinkett bald head, has finally spoken about the incident that rocked the Oscars Academy and the film industry as whole.
Mrs Rock, the mother of Chris Rock which since the slapping incident between her Son and Will Smith on Oscars Academy Awards Ceremony, never spoke publicly about her son misfortune.
According to people.com, on Friday 22nd April 2022. The mother told the local South Carolina TV Station ” WIS-TV” She initially thought the whole thing was staged. ROSE speaking for the first time after the incident involved her son Chris and Will Smith, at the 94th Oscars Academy Awards.
On Friday, she granted interview on local TV Station WIS-TV, and discussed the moment when Will Smith walked onto the stage at the Oscar and struck Chris 57, in response to a joke made about Jada Pinkett bald-head.
(Pinkett previously opened about living with “alopecia” a condition that causes hair loss.)
“You reacted to your wife giving you the side-eye, and you went and made her day because she was mulled over laughing when it happened,” She said.
She also added that, she initially thought the incident was staged while watching it unfolded during the broadcast from her home but realized it was real when Smith, 53 started using “obscenities.”
“When he slapped Chris, he slapped all of us. He really slapped me,” she said. “Because when you hurt my child, you hurt me.”
“No one heard his speech. No one was able to just be in the moment because everyone was sitting there like, ‘What just happened?’ ” She told the local Tv Network WIS-TV.
Sequentially Will Smith went on to received the best Actor award, for a role he played as the father of the Williams Sisters Serena and Venus Williams, a movie Titled “King Richard.”
Will Smith later resigned from the Oscars Academy, and rendered apology to Chris Rock whom he slapped during the biggest moment of his colourful long career in the movie Industry 🎬 . And he was handed a (Ten years) suspension from the Oscars Academy.
Following the incident at the Oscars Academy Awards, Jada Pinkett also Shared a message on her Instagram saying “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”
Whether Chris Rock will yield for that message is something we are yet to see.
