5 ILLEGAL DRUG DEALERS AND SUSPECTED CULTISTS ARRESTED IN EKITI

Nigeria, the Ekiti State Police Command Operatives, have arrested five accused cultists and illegal drug dealers at a relaxation center in Ikere-Ekiti.

Sunday Abutu, The State Police Public Relations Officer, who revealed this in a statement said the accused were arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad ( RRS ) in connection to the command following a sure prompt from the public.

Abutu said upon the receiving of the information, the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad ( RRS ) quest after the accused before their arrest at a relaxation center in Ikere-Ekiti.

Abutu said, “upon the receipt of the information, the operatives of the RRS swung into action and on getting to the hotel, one Adewumi Gboyega, Temitope Oyeyemi, Kazeem Ayomide, Adewumi Praise and Olayinka Emmanuel were found in one of the hotel rooms.”

“When the room was searched, the following items were found in their possession and recovered, three packs of suspected Arizona Hemp, Fifty raps of suspected cocaine, Fifteen packs of suspected loud hemp, twenty raps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp

They also recovered other items including, ten gas lighters, one sharp knife and sum of seventy-six thousand, nine hundred naira (₦ 76, 000).

Abutu also said, “during interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed to be illicit drug dealers”

The State Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo, praised the members of the public for the provision of timely and useful information to the police, over what he called their cooperation and support. He said their cooperation has lead to the arrest of the suspects and other criminal constituent.

He restated the readiness of the Command, under his authority not to give way in its effort to mobilize the activities of criminals in the State.
